$2M Bail For Palatine Man Facing Child Porn Charges
Gregory Polinsky, 56, was arrested after police executed a search warrant at his home Tuesday.

PALATINE, IL — A 56-year-old man faces child pornography charges, and he allegedly admitted to investigators that he used a computer program to search for images of children 5 to 10 years old, according to Palatine police. Gregory Polinsky, of the 1500 block of North Winslowe Drive, was charged with possession of child pornography and dissemination of child porn — both class X felonies with mandatory minimum sentences of six to 30 years if convicted — and he was ordered held on $2 million Wednesday.

According to police, investigators executed a search warrant at Polinsky's home Tuesday morning and seized seven computers. One of the computers was on when police arrived and allegedly was actively downloading child pornography, police said. While he was questioned by investigators, Polinsky allegedly used software to find porn featuring children between the ages of 5 to 10 that he could download, police said.

Polinsky's next court date is June 8.
