Americans For Prosperity - Illinois Launches Ads In Six Districts

NAPERVILLE- In order to ensure the public is informed of the policy choices made by their state legislators in Springfield this year, Americans for Prosperity - Illinois is highlighting the legislative actions of six state legislators, specifically on property taxes and an unbalanced budget.

“Many of the actions taken in Springfield by some of our state legislators over the past year have not been in the best interest of taxpayers,” said Americans for Prosperity Illinois state director David From. “This effort is intended to show the public instances where their legislators have not stood up for the taxpayers’ best interest, so they can urge those legislators to change course.”

The campaign will focus on our elected leaders’ failure to curb government over-spending by passing unbalanced budgets and promoting higher taxes, while also refusing to address the problem of ever-increasing property taxes that drain family budgets and dampen growth. The initial phase of the advocacy effort consists of an extensive digital ad campaign in each of the legislative districts below, reinforced with door-to-door effort and continued direct mail. Additional legislators will be added to the advocacy efforts in the coming month.

“We want to be sure that Illinoisans know that, despite passing the House with a supermajority, the Illinois Senate Democrat majority is blocking a real property tax freeze from becoming law,” continued From. “These senators are part of the majority that is blocking this crucial relief for their constituents. Furthermore, each of the House members included in this effort embraced Speaker Mike Madigan’s unbalanced budget that will only result higher taxes and more unsustainable government spending. Rather than stand up for their constituents by supporting a responsible budget, they chose Madigan’s $7 billion unbalanced budget. Their constituents need to be aware of these legislators’ actions.”
