Palatine Police Seek Help Finding Man Missing Since April

PALATINE, IL — Palatine police are asking for the public’s help locating a 48-year-old resident who has not been seen in several months.

Michael P. Cantarutti was reported missing June 3 after friends became concerned because they had not heard from or seen him for several weeks, according to the Palatine Police Department.

Investigators believe Cantarutti was last seen in person by a neighbor on or about April 9. Police said there also may have been a sighting of him at his condominium property on April 12.

Cantarutti’s 2025 BMW SUV was found April 14 in the Deer Grove East Forest Preserve parking lot near East Dundee Road and North Pepper Tree Drive.

Police said investigators have pursued multiple leads and conducted extensive searches near the location where the vehicle was found. The investigation remains ongoing.

Cantarutti is described as a white man who is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 215 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Police do not know what clothing he was wearing when he was last seen.
