Halloween Hustle® 5K and Kids Dash is back for its 21st fang-tastic year on Saturday, October 24, starting and ending at 345 N. Eric Drive in downtown Palatine. Whether you're running, walking or flying the course on a broomstick, everyone can enjoy a morning of fitness, fun and frightfully good vibes, benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of the Northwest Suburbs.
The morning gets off to a spooktacular start at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids Dash, where little monsters ages 3-10 can dash through a festive course in their favorite costumes. At 9 a.m., the 5K run/walk takes runners, walkers and mummies with strollers along a scenic route through downtown Palatine.
After crossing the finish line, keep the Halloween spirit going at the after-party at Tap House Grill, 56 W. Wilson Street, featuring a complimentary half breakfast sandwich, beverages, music and a costume contest. The awards ceremony at 10 a.m. will recognize the top male and female finishers, as well as age-group winners, for their frightfully fast performances.
"This event brings incredible energy and Halloween spirit to downtown Palatine, and we're thrilled to celebrate our 21st year," said Race Director Danielle Snare. "The Halloween Hustle has become a beloved tradition, and we're excited to keep it going by bringing our community together, creating plenty of Halloween memories, and giving back to a great local cause!"
Whether you're racing in costume or simply soaking up the Halloween spirit, the Halloween Hustle® has plenty of treats in store! Every adult registration includes a long-sleeved dri-fit shirt, finisher medal, timing bib and complimentary beverage at the after-party. Little runners in the Kids Dash will receive their own bib, mini medal, pumpkin and kids' shirt.
Can't make it to Palatine? No tricks - just treats! The Virtual 5K lets you join the Halloween Hustle® from wherever you are, whether you run solo or round up your ghoulfriends and boo-friends for a costumed adventure. Virtual participants will receive a shirt, medal and Halloween swag delivered right to their door, plus the chance to enter the virtual costume contest.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Northwest Suburbs, one of Illinois' largest youth enrichment organizations. The Club provides local children with after-school and summer programs, homework assistance, meals, skill-building opportunities and leadership development, giving students from Palatine Community Consolidated School District 15 a safe and supportive place to learn, grow and thrive.
