Amy Schumer Reveals Her Love for Her Chicago Boyfriend's Palatine Parents
"They're just the loveliest people," the comedian told Howard Stern during an appearance on his radio show Tuesday.

Don't believe what US magazine says about celebrities: They're not just like us.
Take comedian Amy Schumer. For us common folk, spending time with a significant other's parents can be an uncomfortable and awkward experience that seems to last forever as they passive aggressively explains why you'll never be good enough for their son or daughter.
But for the star of the film Trainwreck and her own Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, hanging with the parents of her current boyfriend, Chicago furniture designer Ben Hanisch, is no different than hanging with her fun celebrity pals Jennifer Lawrence and Aziz Ansari. Or at least that's how she made it sound Tuesday when she was a guest on The Howard Stern Show.

"His parents are the sweetest people," Schumer said of Hanisch's mom and dad, who live in Palatine. "They are from the Midwest. … Like, his mom always seems like she was called down as a contestant on The Price is Right. And she's so nice, and she sends me nice notes. Like, they're just the loveliest people."

How's that for celebrity privilege, especially given that Schumer and Hanisch—who founded and runs the custom furniture company The Last Workshop—only have been dating for about eight months?
Plus, this isn't the first time Schumer has been caught glad-mouthing Hanisch's mom, Deborah. During an April appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the comic called Deborah "the most excited person you'll ever meet in your life" and described her exuberant nature as "cute."
To make matters worse, Deborah has been equally complimentary to her possible future daughter-in-law.
“I think she’s terrific," Deborah told Time in January, shortly after it was revealed her son was dating Schumer. "She’s so sweet. But I haven’t talked to her yet. I don’t know her at all, and I had never really heard of the name before all this.”
OK, maybe even a celebrity like Schumer can have an awkward moment with a significant other's mom. Just like us.
