Annual Cemetery Walk at Hillside Cemetery

The 25th Annual Cemetery Walk of the Palatine Historical Society will be held on Sunday, May 21st at Hillside Cemetery on Smith Street between Colfax Street and Northwest Highway in downtown Palatine. The Cemetery Walk will begin at 1:00 PM and continue through 4:00 PM, with the last tour scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM. Costumed actors portray some of the early settlers living in Palatine Township, telling of their struggles and of their many successes in the early years of the Township of Palatine.

The annual Cemetery Walk began for two reasons. The first was to present a living history of Palatine to its residents, and secondly to raise funds for badly needed repairs to the historic tombstones and monuments.

Palatine Township and The Palatine Historical Society have partnered together to bring a living history of life in the early years of our community. Tickets can be purchased at the Cemetery Walk and are $5 for adults, $4 for Palatine Historical Society Members, and $2 for children under 16.
