Father, 84, Accused of Murdering Son in Their Schaumburg Home

William Karras is accused of fatally shooting Nick Karras Monday night.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A 84-year-old man is accused of killing his 56-year-old son and is expected in bond court in Cook County Thursday. William Karras faces a first-degree murder charge for fatally shooting Nick Karras in the home the father and son shared on the 1100 block of Stoughton Court, according to the Daily Herald. An autopsy completed Wednesday morning revealed Karras died from multiple gunshot wounds at 9:28 p.m. Monday at his home, according to a news release from the medical examiner's office.

The death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s report.

Authorities said earlier this week that a person believed to be connected to Karras' death was in custody, but did not reveal who that person was until today.
