"Beers to You!” Beer Tasting Fundraiser raises nearly $6,500, 55% more than last year for Palatine Township Senior Center!

Enthusiasm was in the air as over 130 people enjoyed Moretti’s pizza and sampled brews on tap at Drink Nightclub on June 5th, 2014.  This was the second annual “Beers to You!” Beer Tasting Fundraiser benefiting the Palatine Township Senior Center.  Many people hung out on the patio enjoying the warm weather and upbeat music provided by America’s Best DJ’s.  Karen Fay, PTSCC Board Chair and Beer Tasting Chair welcomed guests and acknowledged the sponsors for the evening.  Karen said, “I support The Palatine Township Senior Center (PTSCC) because they touch so many lives in the Palatine Township and surrounding communities.  The programs and services offered are vital to the well-being of older adults and their families and help them stay independent and connected to the community.  Because PTSCC is a 501c3 not for profit, they have to raise nearly 60% of their revenue each year.  One of the ways they do this is by offering fundraisers that are fun and engaging; a Gala in February, a Beer Tasting in June and Girls Night Out in the fall.  Thanks for coming, enjoy the evening and “Beers to You!””

Nearly $6,500 was raised for the programs and services offered at the Palatine Township Senior Center, making this year an even bigger success than the last! 

Megan Rich, Transitional Care Liaison at Emeritus at Prospect Heights had this to say, “I love supporting PTSCC by sponsoring and attending many of their events to show my support of the great work they do.  The beer tasting event was, yet another great event from the Palatine Township Senior Center.  It was a beautiful afternoon to have samples of beer with some colleagues from work.  This year I was lucky enough to win the Beer Tasting 50/50 cash raffle, just in time for my upcoming wedding.”

The most popular raffle items included a Jonathan Toews Chicago Blackhawks jersey, an iHome wireless audio system, four Cubs tickets, a micro-brew beer basket, and a Palatine Park District golf and pool package.  We had twenty-five fabulous items and some enthusiastic winners who were very appreciative of winning some exciting items while supporting a great organization.
