Harper College men’s basketball player Davion Benton (Chicago, Ill. /Alcott College Prep) joined some pretty select company in a strong conference, as he was named N4C Second Team All-Conference.
The 6-foot-5 freshman forward averaged a double-double of 13.7 points per game (second on team) and 10.9 rebounds per game (15th in nation) in 30 games this season.

Benton’s conference averages were even more impressive, as he averaged 16.5 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game and posted 11 double-doubles in 14 contests. He scored a season-high 28 points to go along with 13 rebounds against No. 1 Rock Valley College on Jan. 31.
“He was a player that as a coach you had to plan for every time you went up against him, and there are only so many guys in the conference and region that fit that category,” said Harper head coach Justin Welke. “He was durable, coachable, and he impacted every game he played in.”
