Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Sound of Music at Palatine Library

Palatine Library features The Sound of Music programs: June 3, at 7pm - Behind the Scenes; and June 14 - Maureen Christine with Songs, 2pm.

The Palatine Library will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Sound of Music with two enlightening and entertaining programs. Learn the behind-the-scene stories and enjoy a live performance of the songs from this all-time favorite film.


On Wednesday, June 3, Steven Frenzel, lifelong movie buff and classroom teacher (otherwise known as the walking encyclopedia of film trivia) discusses and entertains the crowd with stories, trivia, and historical insights in Behind the Scenes of The Sound of Music from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Come learn more about this beloved film which won five Academy Awards.


On Sunday, June 14, concert vocalist and national recording artist Maureen Christine, entertains you with her melodious voice, singing songs from the movie that has been cherished since 1965. Enjoy all the award-winning songs performed by her captivating voice in this special performance from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
