Partners for Our Communities (POC) presents their annual Cinco de Mayo fundraiser on May 5 at Falcon Park Recreation Center in Palatine.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Partners for Our Communities (POC) on May 5, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 North Hicks Road, Palatine. Guests will be transported to a traditional Mexican Market right here in Palatine! This popular annual event features authentic Mexican food choices, a salsa bar, a Mariachi band, Mexican desserts, lively music, Latin dances, cash bar with specialty drinks, opportunities to win big prizes, and much more. Guests can try their hands at calf roping, take a picture with "Frida Kahlo," dance the evening away, or simply enjoy a cup of "cafe" to the softer melodies of the live acoustic guitarist. Select artisans of POC's ROLE group will also be showcasing crafts including authentic Mexican goods.

Tickets are $50 per person and are tax deductible. This is an adult only event. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available and can be viewed and purchased at www.POC.news through April 15, 2016. All proceeds benefit the programs of POC. Tickets are available online at www.POC.news or by calling 847-776-9500 X 222.

The POC is a local, 501(c)3 community agency whose mission is to connect families and individuals to services and resources in an effort to build a community of empowered people, healthy families and vibrant neighborhoods. This is done through a variety of programs and collaborative efforts which include but are not limited to: youth and family educational and enrichment programs; health and wellness outreach, prevention and education programs; literacy and academic supports; mental health initiatives; women's leadership programs; employment assistance and much more. Since 1999, Partners for Our Communities has welcomed and introduced families and individuals in need to the Palatine community. In early 2015 the POC board of directors voted to share its programs with neighboring communities. Today, the POC consists of four campuses: POC at the Community Resource Center in Palatine, Edgebrook Community Center in Palatine, POC at the Higgins Education Center in Hoffman Estates, and POC Community School at Winston Campus Junior High.
