Fast Facts: Fremd is coming off its best season ever, and might be putting together an even better one this year. The Vikings finished second in Class 4A in 2015 and followed it up with their fourth straight regional title. They’re seeking a second consecutive sectional title in this game. Fremd’s lone loss to an Illinois team came to Morgan Park on Jan. 9. Since then, the Vikings have won 12 straight. Hopkins leads the team with 13.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, also adding 64 steals. She passed the 1,000-point mark for her career in December. Lewis averages 11.6 points and 2.8 assists per game. The 6-foot-2 Tworek, a Harvard commit, averages 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds with 53 blocks. Until last week, Zion-Benton had not won a regional title since 2012-13. And, the Zee-Bees last claimed a sectional crown in 2011 when they went on to make their lone state appearance and finished second. Three Zee-Bees average in double figures in points, led by Maggett at 13.7, who also averages 6.1 rebounds. Walker scores 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds, while Easley posts 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Zion-Benton may have problems with Fremd’s size, as no Zee-Bee checks in over 5-foot-9 on the roster.
