PALATINE, IL — Construction is underway on a new 32,900-square-foot affordable housing complex for adults with physical and mental disabilities. Henry Bros. Co., a Hickory Hills-based construction company, broke ground on the three-story facility located on a one-acre property in Palatine.

When finished, the complex will have 33 one-bedroom units and 11 two-bedroom units. The building will include a camera surveillance system, intercom access for guests, a community room, laundry facilities, and an on-site professional staff that will include a residential manager and property manager who will be available around the clock, according to a news release. Social service case managers will be available for residents as well.

“We know this market well and we are honored to have been selected as the builder,” said Tom O’Brien, Vice President of Project Development for Henry Bros. Co. “It’s an important development providing quality living spaces while serving the needs of folks with disabilities within the community.”
