CycleFest Returns to Palatine in Coming Weeks

CycleFest will take place during the Downtown Palatine Street Fest.

CycleFest will soon returns to Palatine.

CycleFest will take place during the Downtown Palatine Street Fest, a large community event held Aug. 22 through 24 that offers food, music, entertainment and activities for the family, according to a CycleFest press release.

A CycleFest ride will be held on Aug. 23 starting at 9 a.m. The ride will depart from Towne Square at Smith and Slade streets.

CycleFest offers three casual tours -- 9, 15 or 23 miles -- through scenic streets and paths in Palatine. The festival helps to raise money for improvements outlined in village’s bike plan with the goal of making Palatine a more bicycle-friendly community, according to the news release.

The registration fee is $25 and includes a performance fabric shirt. Participants under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are required for all riders.
