Deadline Coming Soon for Palatine Township Easter Basket Program

Donors interested in participating in the program must register by Thursday, March 16; donations are due to the Township March 21.

Palatine Township is currently seeking donors for its annual Easter Basket Program, which provides baskets filled with treats and toys to disadvantaged Township children, ages 10 years and younger.

Donor registration ends Friday, March 16, 2018. All baskets and donations must be returned to the Township by Wednesday, March 21.

Those who wish to participate in the program by donating a basket can do one of the following:
· Stop by the Township and sign out a bunny, chick or egg cut-out, which includes a child’s first name, age, gender and assigned number.

· Register online at palatinetownship-il.gov/easter-basket-donor. Donors will be contacted by the Township with the child’s information.

Suggested items to include in a basket include edible treats, small toys, games, hair accessories, puzzles and books. The value of the basket and its contents should be approximately $25. Donors are asked to wrap baskets in cellophane or another transparent material, and either attach the cut-out or include a label with the child’s name and assigned number.

“It was amazing to see all of the donors who stepped up last year to provide baskets to children in our community who are less fortunate,” said Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson “Through this program, the Township continues to fulfill its mission of people serving people.”

To determine if a child qualifies for the program, submit their name, address, phone number, school and parent’s name toLlindberg@palatinetownship-il.gov.

Please note: a parent’s permission must be obtained to submit personal information.

For those who would like to support the program, but are unable to prepare a basket can make a donation to the Palatine Township Needy Family Fund. More information can be found at palatinetownship-il.gov/people-serving-people/needy-family-fund.
