Deerfield 9U Boys Travel Baseball Team Spreads Thanksgiving Cheer at Whitehall

Even though students may have been out of school for Thanksgiving break, there was still a lot to learn during Thanksgiving break.

Even though students may have been out of school for Thanksgiving break, a group of local children still had a meaningful learning experience during the extended time away from their classrooms. Members of the Deerfield 9U Boys Travel Baseball team paid a visit to Whitehall, bringing youthful exuberance as they handed out baseballs and put a smile on the faces of individuals currently in the facility.

“When the boys walked into their rooms the look on the faces of those who we visited with gifts was priceless,” said Paul Chanan, coach of 9U Deerfield Boys Travel Baseball. “It was clear that the boys learned the impact they can have on others with thoughtfulness and kindness.”

As part of the visit, the 9U players spent time talking with individuals throughout the facility, sharing stories of their baseball experiences. As a special treat, Jeremy Kanter, administrator at Whitehall, provided the boys with ice cream. The event proved to be enlightening for all, especially for team members and coaches who say they would like to visit Whitehall again.
