There is a whole lot of information out there about the proposed $130 million building bond referendum. This big question on the November 8, 2016 ballot has many moving parts, and voters must arm themselves with knowledge about it.

- Rushed-we've been told by D15 administration that there was a time limit to get this question on the ballot (it is stated by the superintendent in this video)- so, providing information to the community comes second to meeting deadlines for elections?
- No community engagement- the very community that is entirely affected by this proposal-was not consulted at all before it was approved by the school board Aug. 17 2016! There are claims by a group that supports this referendum that it has been in the works for 2 years! Well, the community just heard about it during the school board meeting on the first day of school in 2016! Now, that's not a good faith effort to inform your stakeholders.
- Lots of incorrect information, in an effort to gain support - many things are 'promised' to be a result of approving this referendum, but in reality - they are not part of the referendum at all. Learn about a few, here.
- Dangerous financial future for D15 if approved - District 15 would be facing a debt predicament if the referendum is approved, and unable to meet $100 million in needed safety issues in all of our schools that must be addressed in less than five years. Learn more about that here.
There's much more to be learned, but one thing should be clear to those who have a serious decision to make, and it is that 4RD15Kids understands that our community has needs, and we are changing. We will support a well-researched plan, that includes important research and studies that support its goals. This plan does not have any of that, which is why we must all communicate to our fellow stakeholders that the only vote is a NO VOTE to the District 15, $130 million building bond referendum.
Send a message to D15 that we deserve better.
