Palatine Business to Host Dog Derby

Doggy Derby offers both the dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing.

If your dog can do a down and sit you can register to race in A Closer Bond’s Doggy Derby. Our Doggy Derby offers both the dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing. There will be jumps, ramps, and obedience challenges throughout the course. The course is designed for all dogs, but challenging enough for those who enjoy higher levels of competition. The objective of the event is to teach pet owners new and fun ways of interacting with their dog!

Each station has your dog holding a sit, a down or completing an agility obstacle. Scoring is based on time and task completion. Bonus points are awarded with your best trick at the end of your run, so be prepared to “wow” the judges! In case of a tie, dogs are challenged to a sit/stay duration contest. Winners will receive prize’s and have their picture’s published and listed on A Closer Bond’s Facebook page. Time to start brushing up on your commands. If you need a bit of help, contact us to schedule a few refresher sessions for your pup during a day of daycare or attend a distraction class. We can even help with a cool trick!

$15 per dog team to enter. Handler must be over the age of 18 years old unless accompanied by an adult. Participants will receive a free bandana and entry into the open dog park.Spectators are more than welcome to come watch the races.. Want to bring your dog, but not compete?
