Enter "Rock on Palatine" Singing Contest at Durty Nellie's
Residents ages six to adult of the Northwest Suburbs are invited to compete on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, enter to compete in the 1st annual “Rock on Palatine” Singing Contest.
The competition is set for Saturday, November 7 on the Main Stage in downtown Palatine at Durty Nellie’s, a popular musical performance venue for more than 40 years.
The three competition divisions will include Junior (ages 6-12), Teens (ages 13-18) and Adult (19 years of age and older).

If there are more than eight entries per division, a preliminary competition round will be held prior to November 7, on a date to be announced.

- Competitors under the age of 18 must have parental consent.
- Soloists only, a maximum of 4 minutes per performance.
- All songs and performances must be appropriate for family entertainment.
- Participants are judged on tone, pitch, rhythm, expression, timing and stage presentation.
- Sing a cappella, background music (on CD, iPhone, phone), or live instrument accompaniment (guitar or keyboard-instruments must be provided by participant) played by competitor or another person. No drums or pianos.
- A panel of judges will decide the winners.
Winners in each category will receive a 1st place trophy and a $50 cash prize. 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive medals denoting their placement, and all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
The fee to enter is $15 per participant, and registration in advance is required. The deadline to register is Sunday, October 18. Registration forms can be downloaded at the event website.
