Police Investigating Death of Des Plaines Man Struck by Metra Train as Suicide
The incident occurred near the Mount Prospect station Thursday morning.

Police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Des Plaines man who was struck by a Metra train in Mount Prospect Thursday morning as a suicide, according to Journal & Topics Newspaper.
The unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed at 6:55 a.m. by inbound train #608 just south of the Mount Prospect station, according to the Daily Herald. The victim's identity is not being released per the family's request, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
Following the incident, trains were halted in both directions for an hour and a half but were back up and running as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday. There were extensive delays on the Union Pacific Northwest lines, with some trains running three hours behind schedule, throughout the morning Thursday.
