Fire Department Investigating Palatine Hair Salon Blaze

The fire at Chris and Dora's Hair Salon broke out Sunday night, and the business will be closed indefinitely.

The Palatine Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out Sunday night at a West Palatine Road hair salon, the department said.

Fire crews responded to reports at about 10:16 p.m. of a smoky odor coming from the alley behind 45 W. Slade St., according to a Palatine Fire Department press release. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw smoke coming from Chris and Dora's Hair Salon in the strip mall at 56 W. Palatine Road.

The salon was closed at the time, and no one was injured putting out the blaze, the release said. Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows fire departments helped fight the fire, and crews had the flames under control by about 10:32 p.m., the Palatine department said.

Damage estimates weren't available, but the salon will be closed indefinitely for repairs.
