Food Drive Makes Impact in Community

PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College Athletic Department held a 10-day food drive from April 21-30, collecting canned and other non-perishable food items needed for the Journeys Food Pantry in Palatine. The food drive was a huge success, as a generous amount of items were brought in by student-athletes and office staff/faculty.

Journeys provides shelter and services to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in suburban Cook Country.

“I think it’s important for students to support the community. Our division thought it was a great idea,” said Athletic Academic Advisor Sue Johnson-Royse.
