Join Illinois Shotokan Karate Club for the 32nd Annual Kick for Cures that will take place on March 3, 2019, at Harper College! The Kick for Cures is an annual fundraising event to support charitable organizations and in-need members of the Illinois Shotokan Karate Club family.
This sacred club tradition, formerly known as the Jennifer Malloy Kick Against Cancer, began on February 22, 1987. Jennifer was a member of the ISKC family who developed cancer at the age of 10. Her passion for karate and love for her friends in the club inspired her to continue training and competing as her she fought her illness.
At the inaugural Jennifer Malloy Kick Against Cancer event, ISKC members raised more than $30,000 to support Jennifer and her family as she as she underwent treatment.

Sadly, Jennifer lost her battle to cancer in May of 1987, but we remember her spirit each year and carry on the tradition of donating our time and energy to support those in-need by fundraising for the Kick for Cures.
Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is home to over 4,000 members from all over Chicagoland and has the ability to make a tremendous impact through this event. If members raised just $25 dollars, ISKC would meet our goal of raising $100,000 this year, all of which would go to supporting charitable organizations and families like Jennifer’s.
