Help R.A.H., D211 Foundation Assist Teens Facing Homelessness
The number of homeless students attending District 211 high schools is staggering. Attend a fundraiser and help make a difference.

What would you do if you were facing homelessness? As you think about that, add in the fact that you are also a high school student. During the 2014-2015 school year, more than 200 students attending one of the seven District 211 high schools were classified as homeless.
These are young people that are from your neighborhood or you see around town, and you are unaware they and their families are living through crisis.
This issue is the very reason that R.A.H. (Realtors Against Homelessness) exists. R.A.H. is made up of 11 area real estate professionals who became aware of the growing problem and decided to do something about it.

Since 2009, annual fundraisers have been organized by R.A.H. and the funds generated are donated to the District 211 Foundation. The money helps students and their families to secure their homes, and to pay for groceries, gas cards and other basic necessities to assist them. R.A.H. has raised more $80,000 so far.
If you would like to get involved, attend the R.A.H. Fundraiser on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Chandler’s Banquets, 401 N. Roselle Road from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The evening will include an appetizer buffet, auctions, raffles and exciting entertainment. Tickets can purchased online, here.

About R.A.H.: Realtors Against Homelessness (R.A.H.) was founded in August of 2011 by local realtors who work for a variety of area real estate offices. Together they joined forces, with a mission to provide support to the growing number of homeless students attending District 211 schools. By increasing awareness and fundraising efforts, R.A.H. has been able to positively impact the lives of homeless students.
Homeless Designation from the Federal Government: According to federal laws, students are considered homeless if they lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence, share housing with other persons due to housing loss resulting from economic hardship, or if they are unaccompanied youth, including students who are unable to live in their home or are forced to find alternate shelter.
