Hot Dog Richie's Closes Abruptly
The hot dog stand has been a popular spot for Palatine residents for 40 years.

A hot dog stand that has served the Palatine community for over 40 years closed abruptly in recent weeks, the Daily Herald reports. First Community Financial Bank filed for foreclosure on Hot Dog Riche’s, 220 N. Northwest Highway, after the business failed to make payments on a $340,000 mortgage.
An eviction notice was placed on the door of the business by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 30, according to the article.
Several Hot Dog Richie’s fans have inquired about the closing on the restaurant’s Facebook page. Only one post from a Hot Dog Riche’s Facebook administrator gave some insight into the closing:

I’m not sure I’m allowed to disclose the reason, I am just one of the cooks, but the current news is its only for the time being. That’s all I’m comfortable saying in a public forum.
The phone number for Hot Dog Richie’s has been temporarily disconnected and no information about the closing has been posted on the Hot Dog Richie’s website.
