Illinois 53 Ramps Face Nightly Lane Closures Starting Wednesday

Ramps along Illinois 53 will be facing night closures beginning Wednesday, Aug. 24, as part of a construction project to improve the pavement, according to an Illinois Department of Transportation press release.

The effected ramps will be at Lake Cook and Palatine roads to and from Illinois 53. The project will close ramps going to and from the state road each night, and some ramps will have posted detours. The exact times the lanes will close and reopen was not given in the IDOT release.

Drivers should expect delays while the construction is ongoing. The project is expected to last until the fall of this year.
