iPad Case Stolen From Walmart: Palatine Cops

The following information is from the Palatine Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Erwin G. Szela, 58, Inverness was arrested on Dec. 6 at 10:29 p.m. in the 500 block of west Northwest Highway on charges of speeding and DUI.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Between 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7:50 a.m. on Dec. 7 in the 1200 block of North Sterling Avenue, unknown subjects made entry to a victim's 2017 Chevrolet sedan and removed an Acer computer monitor valued at $250 and approximately $2 in coins from the center console. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

Retail Theft

Sergiu Bujenita, 28, of the 1000 block of North Bayside Drive was arrested and charged with retail theft, a local ordinance, at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road on Dec. 10. A loss prevention agent saw Bujentia conceal an iPad case valued at $54.96 in his coat and pass the last point of sale without payment.
