Visitation for Joan B. McCarthy, nee O'Brien will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street in Barrington from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
Joan was the dearly beloved wife of the late Daniel D. McCarthy, loving mother of Dr. Kathleen McCarthy and Mary Ann (Bill) Kearns, dear grandmother of four, great grandmother of nine and a fond friend to many.
Joan had a great love of life, laughter and friends. She will be remembered for her wild sense of humor and her joy in living. She had a profound sense of loyalty and the ability to inspire joy. She touched many people’s lives and will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joan's name to the Joan McCarthy Dissertation Award would be greatly appreciated.
