Key to Success Winners Announced by Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce

Business of the Year, Business Leaders of the Year and several other awards were given out on Wednesday, December 7 at The Cotillion.

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce held its Key to Success awards dinner at The Cotillion Banquets on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, where the new board of directors were installed.

Several awards were given out to business members and individuals, and included Business of the Year, Distinguished New Business, Business Leader of the Year, Palatine Pride, Community Organization of the Year, Heart of the Community, Community Hero of the Year and the Rising Star Award.

Business of the Year- Member must have made a significant contribution to the Palatine Chamber or to the Palatine Community.

Distinguished New Business-Must be a member for a maximum of three years and have made a significant contribution to the Palatine Chamber or to the Palatine Community.

Business Leader of the Year- Member must have made a significant contribution to the Palatine Chamber or to the Palatine Community through involvement, giving back, and other outreach efforts.

WINNER - Lorrene Conino-owner of Salon Lorrene

  • Mari Beth Darling, Mary Key Cosmetics
  • Joan Scovic, Palatine Park District

Palatine Pride-A Chamber business that embodies what it means to live and do business in Palatine and has made a significant contribution to growth and prosperity in the business community.

WINNER - Vicarious Productions, Owners Melanie Santostefano and Shawn Jackson

  • U.S. Post Office, Louis Smith

Community Organization of the Year – An organization that had made significant contributions to the business and /or community at-large through its work.

WINNER - C.A.T.I.F. (Celebrating all the is Feminine) nonprofit-Lorrene Conino accepted on behalf of C.A.T.I.F. and is a founding board member of the nonprofit.

Heart of the Community-A member who has made significant impact through community outreach, support of social or health programs and is an active volunteer.

Community Hero of the Year-Employed by fire, police, public works, public safety or member of PEMA.

WINNER - Nick Grasso, Palatine Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)

Rising Star Award– A junior or high school student who goes beyond what is expected of them and one who demonstrates self-confidence and self-esteem by positive actions and attitude.
