Little City Celebrates 60th Anniversary
The milestone will be marked by Day of Giving campaign and a Family Fall Fest open to the public

Little City is excited to celebrate its 60th anniversary with its first-ever Day of Giving on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 and a Family Fall Fest on the main Palatine campus that is open to the public.
Little City first opened its doors on Oct. 1, 1959 as the culmination of a dream of a group of families looking to provide more opportunities and support for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Since that modest campus opened on 1760 W. Algonquin Rd. in Palatine, Little City has grown to support more than 1,400 children and adults with developmental disabilities through services including community employment, residential, recreational, educational and foster care and adoption placements.
As a way to mark the milestone and incredible growth, Little City is launching a Day of Giving campaign that will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 2. We encourage our community members to find more information about Little City and consider donating at www.littlecity.org/dog

“Little City has grown beyond our wildest dreams thanks to the support of our communities, businesses and political leaders,” said Shawn Jeffers, Little City Executive Director. “So many lives have been changed for the better thanks to our supporters and we know they will play a vital role in our next 60 years.”
In addition to the Day of Giving campaign, Little City will host a Fall Family Celebration on Friday, Oct. 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the main campus at 1760 W. Algonquin Rd. in Palatine. This free event will give people an opportunity to learn about Little City while enjoying face painting, games, food, music, therapy dogs and more family entertainment!
