Local Businesses on Tour with Palatine Singer/Songwriter Barb Sorensen

Local businesses Heil and Kay Insurance, Signs Today, and Carquest (on Colfax) are "on tour" with Palatine singer/songwriter Barb Sorensen through Vancouver/Canada, Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

"I am very grateful these businesses love music and culture, and spreading joy around via the arts! Most people think that a singer/songwriter makes their money via concerts and CD sales. And while that is true, most of the venues don't have the budgets available to pay the artist's fee. So I work with businesses who love music and culture and the fun spirit and energy it brings to the world, to help make up the difference so I can continue. It was so neat when I walked into the Mount Prospect office of Heil and Kay Insurance and the Manager showed me his wall of photos he had taken of various other world renown artists he had met in his travels. I felt honored to be amongst them. Another sponsor Signs Today was one of the first businesses in Palatine that believed in working with me. They have helped make sure my stage banner is clean, and well maintained.They have also been very tolerant and generous with me when I have a last minute night-before-the-concert banner adjustment need. I am also heart-warmed by Carquest's sponsorship which came in the day before I left on tour. They have provided raffle items for previous concerts and so this was a real pleasant surprise. I love you guys!
