Man Beaten, Robbed After Teens Lure Him to Parking Lot: Police

The male victim was punched in the abdomen and kicked in the head. The teens are accused of then stealing his wallet.

PALATINE, IL - Two teens face charges after they reportedly lured a man to a Palatine parking lot during the early morning hours of March 29 where they beat him and stole his wallet, police said.

Derrius Wilson, 19, of the 100 block of West Hamilton Drive in Palatine, and Alicia Valerio, of the 100 block of Longmeadow Drive in Lindenhurst, have both been charged with felony robbery in connection with the robbery.

Police said the robbery occurred when a man went to meet a female friend, who was later identified as Valerio, in the parking lot in the 700 block of East Rand Grove Lane in Palatine. When he approached the woman, a male confronted him, punched him in the abdomen and kicked him in the head after he had fallen to the ground, according to a Palatine Police Department press release.

While the male, who was later identified as Wilson, held the victim to the ground, the woman stole the victim's wallet from his pocket. Both offenders fled the scene in the woman’s vehicle, police said.

During the investigation, Palatine officers located the woman’s vehicle at a nearby motel, which lead to the arrest of Wilson and Valerio.
