Man Breaks Into Ex-Girlfriend's Apartment, Threatens to Kill Her: Police

Albert Moore III faces charges following the attack this past week in Palatine.

An Elgin man faces charges after he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s Palatine home and threatened to kill her, police said.

Albert Moore III, of 375 Longford Drive in Elgin, is charged with criminal trespass to property and home invasion, according to a Palatine Police Department press release. His bond was set at $25,000.

Moore is accused of going to his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend’s home in the 300 block of Smith Street at about 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday and attempting to gain entry into the apartment, according to the news release.

When the woman told Moore to leave the property, he forced his way inside, police said. The woman braced herself against her bedroom door to prevent Moore from getting in, but he pushed his way in. The woman was injured when the door struck her in the face.

After the woman plead with Moore to leave her apartment, Moore is accused of threatening to kill her, according to the news release. Police arrived as Moore was leaving the apartment and took him into custody.

Moore is next expected in court on Sept. 15.
