Man Sentenced 5 Years for Molesting Hearing-Impaired Girl

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine was sentenced to five years in prison after accepting a deal and pleading guilty to fondling a 14-year-old hearing-impaired girl in March, the Daily Herald reports.

As part of the agreement, Corey Stoval, 25, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse Wednesday, the report stated. He also was fined $1,339 and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, the report added.

Because he has been in custody since his arrest in April, Stoval was credited 222 days toward his sentence, the Herald reports.

Stoval, who has past battery and controlled substances convictions, was accused of touching a teenage girl's genital area over her clothes while she was sleeping March 22. The girl, who was visiting from Wisconsin at the time, then texted her mother about the incident after it happened.
