Marion Louise Bergman, 92

The visitation for Marion Louise Bergman (nee Luerssen), 92, of Palatine since 1948, will held Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home located at 201 N. Northwest Highway in Palatine.

The visitation will continue Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home. The interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Palatine. The Reverend David Mercer will officiate.

Marion was born Nov. 23, 1919 in Schaumburg, Illinois, and she passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at the Lutheran Home, Arlington Heights.  She married Vernon Bergman Oct. 26, 1946 in Barrington.

Marion was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Palatine, and was member of the women’s guild and the quilters.  She also was a member of the Cook County Home Bureau and the Republican Women’s Club.  Most of all, her family was everything to her, and she enjoyed extended winter vacations at the family condo in Florida.  

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Bergman; sons, Robert Bergman and Thomas (Lisbeth) Bergman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Schwartz, Jessica Bergman, Daniel Bergman, Robert Bergman, Cari (Joel) Aves, Amanda Bergman, Katie Bergman and Thomas Bergman Jr., Kathryn Bergman, Karla Bergman, Derik Bergman and Shane Bergman; 9 great-grandchildren; a step-son, Dan (Gayle) Bergman, and 4 nieces.

Marion was preceded in death by her infant son, John Henry Bergman; parents, Henry and Alma (nee Wente) Luerssen; brother, Leonard Luerssen; and sisters, Alice Luerssen and Betty Cipri.
