“They need the communities help. There are no words to express how much the family will miss this little guy,” according to the online fund-raising page. “Please keep the family in your prayers and good thoughts.”

Kelly Hopkins, a Schaumburg woman, set up the fund-raising page, according to the Daily Herald. Hopkins’ daughter plays on the Fremd basketball team with Kobe’s sister, Brianna.

“We just have a really good support system through the girls basketball team,” Hopkins told the Daily Herald. ”Just to see our fellow families going through such a tragic time ... it was the least we could do.”

Please keep Brianna Lewis and her family in your prayers as they deal with the loss of a family member.
