Northwest Community Hospital Ranked Among Best Hospitals in State

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights is among the best hospitals in the state, according to recently released U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals ranking.

The hospital was ranked at No. 17 on the list, which was released Tuesday.

Meanwhile, nearby Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge was ranked at No. 7 on the list.

Illinois has about 220 hospitals. Nine are nationally ranked and 21 others meet national high performing standards.

U.S. News and World Report sifted through data for nearly 5,000 hospitals and results from surveys of more than 140,000 physicians to rank the best centers in 16 adult specialties from cancer to urology, according to the publication. Death rates, patient safety and hospital reputation were a few of factors considered. Only 137 hospitals were nationally ranked in a specialty.
