The mission of WINGS is to “provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence” and Sleigh Family Chiropractic in Arlington Heights will be hosting its 4th annual donation drive to benefit individuals served by the nonprofit. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WINGS is in need of donations now more than ever!

In honor of Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 10, 2020) and starting Monday, April 6 through Thursday, May 7, Sleigh Family Chiropractic will be accepting a variety of donations, not only for women and children, but also for men who are victims of domestic violence. Accepted items will include accessories, housewares, furniture, linens, artwork, jewelry, scarves, shoes, purses, handbags, in-season holiday décor, working electronics, small appliances and books.

Due to social distancing recommendations related to COVID-19, donations can be dropped off outside the front door of the practice under the awning, located at 3285 N. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. Area residents can also visit WINGS online at wingsprogram.com/donate/ for other ways to support the organization.

“We are in awe of WINGS and the amazing support and services it provides for women, men and children who simply want to live a peaceful and productive life,” said Dr. Katie Sleigh, a co-founder of the practice that recently celebrated its 10th year in business. “This donation drive can truly help these individuals see that our community cares about them; we encourage all area residents to participate if they can in some way.”

Sleigh added that the decision to partner with WINGS was made because Sleigh Family Chiropractic has a strong, ‘healthy family’ focus. Pregnant moms and babies make up a large percentage of patients, in addition to entire families. Donations can be dropped off during the practice’s normal business hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., and on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. between April 6 and May 7. For questions, please call 847-788-0880.
