Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Palatine Memorial Day parade and related events have been canceled for this year. In lieu of these traditional events, the American Legion Post 690 is preparing a Virtual Memorial Day video to be shared on the Legion’s Facebook page on Monday, May 25.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 20, the legion will be recording a short service at the Hillside Cemetery (near Smith & Colfax Streets) at 2 PM. The event, which will be closed to the public, will include a traditional gun salute to remember and honor those members of the United States armed services that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
