Palatine Blotter: DUI, Home Burglary, Retail Theft

A look at recent arrests and crime reports made to Palatine Police.

PALATINE, IL -- The Palatine Police Department responded to various reports in the past week. Here is a look at what crimes were reported in town:

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Palatine police were called to a home in the 900 block of South Mallard Court between 5:30 p.m. on June 10 and 10 a.m. on June 11 for a report of residential burglary. Authorities say an unknown person or persons entered the home and took several assorted power tools and equipment from the basement. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence. This burglary is under investigation.

RETAIL THEFT

A 33-year-old Palatine woman was arrested and charged with retail theft for stealing from Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road in Palatine, on June 17. Ashley Dixon is accused of concealing several clothing items among other store merchandise and pass the last point of sale without payment. The total of all merchandise taken was $31.59, according to the police report.

DUI
A 30-year-old Palatine man was pulled over on northbound Rand Road at Frontage Road at 2:05 a.m. on June 15. Nelson N. Tigre Corte, of the 1100 block of North Sterling Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence, BAC over .08, disobeyed traffic control device and improper lane usage.
