Wellness Place, a nonprofit cancer resource and education facility, has provided free programs and services for 14 years to residents of the Northwest suburbs who are struggling with cancer diagnoses. The organization has been funded by private donations.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must tell you that Wellness Place will be closing,” said Cathy Schulze, chairman of the Board for Wellness Place. “As we prepare for this transition, we are fully committed to working with each and every participant to find resources for ongoing support, and we are grateful for the generous community support that has allowed us to fulfill our mission for so many years.”

The staff at Wellness Place is available to meet with groups and individuals to assist in identifying continued support for all participants. Programs and services will continue as published through September, as the Board, staff and volunteers work to facilitate a smooth transition for current participants to other currently available community resources.
Schulze said she encourages any concerned participant to call for individual appointments with staff counselors, as needed. Wellness Place staff can be reached at (847) 221-2400.
