Palatine to Host an Electronics Recycling Event

On Aug. 5, the Village of Palatine will host an electronics recycling event at the Palatine Village Hall and Community Center.

From SWANCC: On Saturday, August 5, 2017, the Village of Palatine will host an electronics recycling event at the Palatine Village Hall and Community Center, 200 E. Wood Street, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents from Palatine and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate. Electronics will not be accepted from non-SWANCC residents, businesses, schools or institutions and IDs will be checked for verification of residency - http://www.swancc.org/swancc-member-communities.

Accepted Electronics at SWANCC-Sponsored Events:

Answering Machines, Cable Receivers, Calculators, Camcorders, Cameras, CD and DVD Players (no disks), Cell Phones, Computer Cables, Computer Monitors, Computers (Desktop, Notebook, Tablet), Converter Boxes, Fax Machines, Keyboards, Microwaves, Mice, MP3 Players, Portable Digital Assistants (PDAs), Power Tools and Cords, Printers (Multi-function Printers), Satellite Receivers, Scanners, Shredders, Small Home Appliances (Toasters, Blenders, etc.), Stereo Equipment (no wood), Landline Telephones, Televisions, Typewriters, Video Game Consoles, Video Recorders/Players (no VHS tapes) and Zip Drives.

Items NOT Accepted: Dehumidifiers, Humidifiers, Air Conditioners, Vacuum Cleaners, Refrigerators and other large home appliances.

“SWANCC provides a variety of drop-off locations to assist its residents with the task of recycling banned electronics and other items, so that potentially harmful and recoverable materials are diverted from the landfill,” stated Mary Allen, SWANCC Recycling and Education Director.
