Palatine Library Foundation Giving Tuesday Fundraiser
A donation on November 27 supports the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at Palatine Library

Palatine Library Foundation asks for your support of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program at Palatine Library. On Giving Tuesday, November 27, $10 donations will support starter kits for kids and parents who participate. This free program encourages the love of reading together and emphasizes that simply reading to a child is one of the most important ways to prepare him/her for school. The Foundation’s goal is to raise $1000 on Giving Tuesday. To donate, visit https://ppldf.org/makeadonation.html
Thirty-four children have completed the program since it started in September 2017. The starter kit provides information about the program and includes a great way to record reading progress, with fun stickers and prizes along the way. Once the child has reached the 1000 book goal, he/she receives a book and an invitation to a graduation ceremony. The supportive parent/caregiver also receives a special gift. This program is open to Library District cardholders ages birth to Kindergarten.
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises funds for Palatine Library in order to enhance services, materials, and activities. For more information, visit https://ppldf.org
