The pickup option will be offered starting on June 2.
PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Library District will begin offering curbside pickup starting in June. Cardholders can request items and then pick up between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday starting on June 2, according to a news release from the library district.
Patrons can reserve and pick up books, movies, and more, all while practicing social distancing.
“The library is dedicated to providing access to digital materials, virtual programs for all ages, and to finding a safe way to give the community access to physical items,” according to a news release from the library district. “During this unprecedented time, staff have heard from many people that miss coming to the library and have asked for physical materials.”

Once a person places a hold on an item, they will be notified when they can come pick it up at the main library. Patrons should park in the west parking lot and call the library at 847-358-5881 to let staff know they have arrived.
Staffers will bring your hold items out to your vehicle and place them in the trunk. Staff will be wearing gloves and masks and will not be handing items to people in order to maintain a six-foot safe distance.
