Palatine Library Offers Fine Amnesty, April 11 – 12

Bring back any overdue Palatine Library materials on these two days, and staff will help you clear up your account.

Palatine Public Library District is pleased to announce Fine Amnesty for two days – Wednesday, April 11, and Thursday, April 12. Bring back any Library materials that are overdue by days or years and talk to staff about your fines, and they will help you clear up your account. Fine Amnesty is intended to help patrons return to Palatine Library to enjoy and rediscover all the offerings available.

“National Library Week is a perfect time for helping our patrons clear up their accounts. We know that sometimes having fines can prevent people from using the Library, so we want to give them the opportunity to start fresh and use the Library again,” said Rosalie Scarpelli, Circulation Manager.

Fines will be waived up to $50 per account, and amnesty does not include charges for collection agencies or replacement of materials. Individuals must visit any Library location and speak to staff to have fines waived. Expired Palatine Library cards may be renewed with a photo I.D. Cards expire every three years and are considered valid with less than $5.00 in fines or fees. For more information, please call 847-358-5881, x100.
