Over 20 local businesses and organizations are bringing exciting STEAM activities!

Palatine Public Library District invites everyone to discover, problem solve, and engage in critical thinking on Saturday, November 3, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library’s first-ever STEAM Fair! Over 20 local businesses and organizations are bringing exciting activities that highlight subjects in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Pick up a map when you arrive to collect stamps and take home a bag of goodies. Welcome to everyone.
Enjoy watching drones race through a micro course of obstacles in the Library! Show off your impressive driving techniques with radio-controlled cars, or experience virtual reality with VR headsets. Learn about raptors and get up close to an owl. Make, play, and discover cardboard games with the Library’s new Nintendo LABO and a Nintendo Switch. Younger kids can learn to program and play with various robots, like LEGO WeDos, and students in grades 3-6 learn simple coding with Ozobots robots. Climb aboard the Harper College classroom on wheels to learn about coding—a universal language.
Palatine Library’s STEAM fair is presented in partnership with: Bess Bower Dunn Museum, Boy Scouts of America, Cernan Earth and Space Center, Clean Minecraft Videos, Community Consolidated School District 15, Crabtree Nature Center, GoDroneX, Harper College Chemistry Club, Harper College Mobile Unit, Hoffman Estates Park District, Home Depot of Palatine, Northrop Grumman, Northwest Suburban Astronomers, Palatine Fire Department, Palatine High School Robotics Club, Palatine Park District, Palatine Police Department, Rocket Launchers—FLL, Salt Creek Park District, SciTech Hands-On Museum, Snapology of Palatine- Barrington, STEM For Kids—IL NW Chicago, Stillman Nature Center, and William Fremd High School Robotics Club.
