Palatine Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of Juvenile, Ordered Detained

The reported incident occurred in the 1200 block of East Dundee Road, police said.

PALATINE, IL — A 25-year-old Palatine man was ordered detained after being charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and two counts involving child sexual abuse material, according to the Palatine Police Department.

Angel Valencia Alvarado was arrested Sept. 30 following an investigation that began July 11, when a juvenile reported that an adult man recorded a sexual encounter involving the two of them.

The reported incident occurred in the 1200 block of East Dundee Road, police said.

Detectives conducted multiple interviews and obtained search warrants during the investigation, identifying Valencia Alvarado as the suspect.

Following a review of the investigation, Valencia Alvarado was charged with:

  • One count of child sexual abuse material, a Class X felony.
  • One count of child sexual abuse material, a Class 2 felony.
  • One count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

Valencia Alvarado appeared for a detention hearing Friday, Oct. 2, at the Cook County Third District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows and was ordered detained. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 23.
