Palatine Man Enters Pizzeria for Order, Leaves With $500 From Register: Cops

Jonathan Cabrera, 25, was charged with felony theft, and he's being held on $40K bail.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A Palatine man is accused of stealing hundreds in cash from the register of a village pizza joint last week, according to the Daily Herald.

Jonathan Cabrera, 25, of the 1300 block of Ports O Call Drive was charged with felony theft in the incident. He's currently being held in Cook County Jail on $40,000 bail, and his next court date is Jan. 20.

According to police, Cabrera allegedly walked into Mug's Pizza, 807 W. Rand Road, to pick up an order at around 2:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, the report stated. But the man allegedly took off with more than $500 from the business' cash register, the report added.

If convicted, Cabrera faces two to five years in prision, according to the report.
