Palatine Park District OKs Indoor Pool Project With Harper College

The district will provide $9M toward the $38M plan, and residents will be able to use the renovated facility.

Palatine, IL—They might have to wait until 2018, but Palatine Park District residents eventually will be able to enjoy the indoor pool at Harper College.

The district approved Tuesday to fund $9 million of the school's $38 million renovation plan for its on-campus Recreation and Wellness Center, the Daily Herald reports. That funding will allow district residents to use the center's indoor pool.

The plan was approved by a 3-1 vote, and supporters of the project said the district would have had to spend $15 million to build its own indoor pool.
