Palatine Police Blotter: Stolen Firewood; Car Burglaries
The Palatine Police Department responded to several reports in recent days.
PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Police Department responded to the following reports in recent weeks:
- Salvador Martinez, 36, of the 2100 block of South Gerber Road in Arlington Heights, is accused of trying to steal three bundles of firewood from the Jewel-Osco, 45 S. Plum Grove Road, on Jan. 31. He was cited for retail theft.
- Between 8 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 31, a person removed tools and a speaker from a Plymouth van. There was no forced entry.
- On Feb. 2, Kevin Garcia, 18, of the 1400 block of North Ports O' Call Drive, allegedly removed four cell phones from the electronics department and tried to conceal them while at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road. A loss prevention agent found him and the cell phones, which were valued at $216, still on him. He was charged with retail theft.
- Between 4 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 3, a person removed a backpack and four tackle boxes from a Hyundai sedan in the 200 block of South Rohlwing Road. There was no forced entry.
- Between 7:20 and 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 3, a person removed cash from an unlocked Honda sedan in the 1200 block f North Winslowe Drive.
